40. my trip to mexico and how i became a capcut wizard
okay, so I MAYYY have click-baited you a
little. Doesn’t every successful micro-internet celebrity at some point? (I have
2 views on my last blog post.)
but the Mexico part is true! Now, if you’re
some kind of weird, talented hacker who has been tracking my location based on
my blog posts, you may be wondering what the heck was up with the period of
time when I was posting from Mexico. Well, creepy friend of mine, I went back
home for a week to celebrate my cousin’s graduation from her career! In Mexico,
we study specifically for our career, for 4 years, instead of the multiple
degrees we have here in the states. And when you graduate from your career, you
get a prom! The only one you’ll ever have, lol. You can invite family, too, so that’s
how I ended up over there.
And I know you’re probably thinking “how does
this relate to becoming a wizard for a video-editing app?” so I won’t bore you
much longer with the technicalities and personal details. Basically, the
beautiful woman who gave me life has this tendency to ask me to take a video of
literally every single event we go to. So, no surprise when she began bugging
me as soon as we were sat at our table. And, being the most sweetest daughter I
am, I obliged. However, my mother had a request. She wanted me to make it
pretty, and add some music in the background of the video. Which leads me to…
Capcut.
I’ve used Capcut a couple times before, back
when I was a wannabe gacha life youtuber, or when I tried to make k-pop edits
in like… 2018. So you would think no biggie, right?
No. it was a very big biggie, a hugie, one
might say.
Somehow, I had forgotten how to operate
anything on that cursed app, so I had to go about figuring it out. And I couldn’t
exactly throw holy water on it and say a quick prayer, no I needed something
stronger.
Youtube. So, there I sat at the party, busying
myself with watching some fellow teenager explain to me how to navigate the
app. And, with some encouragement in the form of sodas and yummy treats, I rose
like a phoenix from the ashes of my failures. I swear, I felt like Dumbledore
or something, how wise I suddenly grew. But anyway, the moral of the story here
is that there’s always room to improve, and its okay to forget things, as long
as you’re willing to learn again. And, in case you’re curious, here’s the
video.
