19. main character analysis


so, our main character’s name is gigi. let’s get the stuff you already know out of the way!

gigi’s turning 18, and she just recently lost her mother, so it’s her first birthday without her around. as a result, gigi’s kind of in a fragile emotional state. she’s just trying to have a win after a long while of lows, you know? in the movie, she’s getting ready for her birthday when her dad breaks the news that he’s not gonna be home in time to celebrate her birthday with her. so, obviously, she’s feeling lonely and abandoned.


and i’m sure you know that she’s blonde, blue eyed, and fair skinned because you have most definitely read gia’s blogs and her introduction post…. right? :)

in terms of personality, i would say she’s like a typical teenager girl. she’s quite feminine, as you can see through her attire and how her room is set up. posters, light colors, pretty furniture. you could also say she's strong and resilient, considering her current situation and how she's still trucking through despite it.


she's a really interesting character, to me, because i feel like she's something that a lot of people could relate to. whether it be because of a missing parent or because of this feeling of weight that comes with growing up. especially girls, i really think she's a good representation of one's struggle with becoming a woman. to me, at least.

08. mise en scene for today’s blog post, I will be analyzing the scene composition of (obviously, I mean this is a no brainer)... now, before we do that, we must first describe what exactly mise en scene is. according to my research 🤓☝️, mise en scene is a French term that refers to the many elements that make up one scene. This includes things such as lighting, the positioning of actors in the frame, costumes, the way the set is staged, anything that the camera’s view touches. i hope you processed that, because we're gonna dive right into it. now, the obvious thing that stands out about the mise en scene in barbie is, obviously, the set dressing. the props in the movie often look plasticky, and in some of the scenes they're actually just stickers! 44. final project! I wanna thank the academy, I wanna thank my mom, my dad, my bed…   No, but seriously, it’s been a long road to get here, so I’m excited that the final project is here! We had some hiccups along the way and she was a very stressful delivery, but we are here nonetheless. There’s not much to say here, but I will add in a couple of disclaimers and extra things.
